The teaching of this subject allows the student to acquire the fundamental notions of classical mechanics linked to the material point through kinematics, dynamics, and the concepts of work and energy.

Specific objectives of each chapter:

Chapter I:

- deal with fundamental notions namely: Notions of dimensions, Calculation

of errors, vectors, Functions with several variables, and Operators.

Chapter II:

- concerns the notions on the kinematics of the point. It deals with rectilinear

movement, movement in space, the study of particular movements, the study

of movements in different systems (polar, cylindrical, and spherical), relative

movements

Chapter III:

- addresses the dynamics of the point. It is proposed to study The principle of

inertia and the Galilean frames of reference, The principle of conservation

of momentum, the Newtonian definition of force (3 laws of Newton), and

Some laws of force

Chapter IV:

- will be reserved for energy and work. It deals with the work of a force, Power,

Energy, and Collision of particles.
